An estranged son returns to his late father’s home to collect an inheritance and in the process discovers an alarming purchase he had made.
Bio: Celine Held & Logan George are both NYU graduates based out of Brooklyn, NY. As a co-writer/director duo, their narrative work has screened at SXSW, Seattle International Film Festival, Raindance Film Festival, Rooftop Films, Montclair Film Festival and premiered online as Vimeo Staff Pick Premieres. They are one of Filmmaker Magazine’s 25 New Faces of Independent Film of 2017.
Jamil Munoz for KIKO
Set in the near future, Kiko — a retail service android– forms a connection beyond the walls of her lonely electronics repair shop.
Bio: Jamil was born and raised in Syracuse, NY. He holds a BFA in Film from Syracuse University’s College of Visual and Performing Arts, where he received the Carol M. Schmuckler Award for Achievement in Filmmaking. He is currently a freelance editor and an MFA candidate in directing at Columbia University.
Lauren Smitelli for VISUAL DESCRIPTION
As a brother and sister describe what is happening in a movie to their blind grandmother, they begin to realize they see things differently.
Bio: Lauren Smitelli is a writer, director, and producer. An alumna of NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, she quickly moved west to cure her self-diagnosed Seasonal Affective Disorder. As a producer she has helmed numerous successful series, shorts and features. As a director, her short MARATHON has played over 20 film festivals. She is currently co-directing a musical for Zeno Mountain Farm which is the first of its kind, integrating people with special needs and disabilities in every department of production, in front of and behind the camera.
